Rooksbury Mill was created by the extraction of gravel used during the constructions of the A303 Andover bypass. Since it’s creation it was a trout farm before it became a nature reserve. It has been managed by Test Valley Borough Council Since 2001.
The site has also been designated as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC)
The site consists of 2 Lakes and a newly created orchard providing habitats for many dragonflies, damselflies and species of Bat. It is also home to Brown Trout, Watervoles, numerous water fowl such as Water Rail and flora like Starwort, Watercress and Clustered Bellflower
